(BATTLEGROUND) A father and son from our state are about to learn their fate after participating in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Battleground, Washington resident Jeremy Grace has already plead guilty to reduced charges, and is expecting to be sentenced in July after making a plea bargain with the government.

When asked why he entered the capitol that day, Jeremy’s father Jeff Grace told KGW-TV “I don’t know.”

Jeff’s son Jeremy was with him that day, and in the same interview, the dad denied his son ever entered the building. Photos, videos, and witnesses prove otherwise.

Both have made plea bargains for reduced sentences. Jeremy Grace will likely get 6 months in prison next month. Jeff Grace’s future isn’t as clear, but he’s expected to face a judge next week.

To date, the Justice department has charged more than 800 people with crimes for their involvement during the attack.

The committee hearing on the January 6th attack begins this evening at 5, and you’ll be able to listen to it LIVE on Northwest Newsradio.
