(LYNNWOOD) A Lynnwood company has spent the last few weeks alerting over 3- MILLION people that their personal information has been leaked.
The debt collection firm known as Receivables Performance Management has dealt with clients across the country, but some of those people have filed lawsuits after the company was the victim of a data breach.
The reasons for the legal action? The company came clean about the incident late last month, but the original theft of data dates back to May 2021, or 18 months ago.
An attorney with the local firm Hagens Berman posed several questions to the Herald, including “Why didn’t they tell people then? Were they going to keep it close to their vests and not tell anybody until they thought they resolved this?”
Neither the company or its attorney have responded to the lawsuits.
