It’s going to be another chaotic weekend in Seattle for drivers using Highway 520 and Montlake Blvd, with one road closure affecting another.
“It’s north-sound on Montlake Blvd between Roanoke and Hamlin” says WSDOT’s Steve Peer “That’s a small stretch, but it has a pretty big impact on drivers.”
That’s means re-routing 130,000 drivers over the weekend, but that may not be the worst of it according to Peer “Add to it, all of the ramps to-and-from Montlake are going to be closed over the weekend and that’s a problem for drivers.”
The closure starts Friday night at 10 O’clock, but it won’t deliver much relief by Monday morning “It doesn’t get a lot better Monday” says Peer “Montlake will be funneled down to just one in each direction. So really, until the following Saturday (June 24th) drivers should stay away from this area.”
Stay Away, because the traffic gridlock is the stuff of nightmares we’re told.
