(SEATTLE) Another hiring freeze has reportedly been announced at Seattle-based Amazon, even though the company has yet to confirm or deny it.
News of the freeze actually comes from Bloomberg, which has a source saying that Amazon’s business unit will not add any more workers at this time. It may fill current vacancies, but can add no more to the ranks.
Bloomberg goes on to say tech advertising is expected to drop in the fourth quarter.
Just yesterday, we told you that long time local economic forecaster Dick Conway had three areas of concern about the local economy in the coming months…and one was cutbacks in the tech sector.
This hiring halt comes just weeks after Amazon instituted a hiring freeze in its corporate and retail tech division.
