THIS EPISODE OF THE NORTHWEST POLITICAST: For decades, North Idaho has had a well-deserved reputation as hotbed for racism and hate. Neo-Nazis, the Aryan Nations, and even the more recent Christian Redoubt Movement have gained traction among the ultra-conservatives that populate the region. But with the fall of Roe v. Wade, some moderates in the GOP are hoping to change the area’s perception. We’ll look at how the state developed such a distinction, and an effort by more moderate Republicans to reclaim the party.

PLUS: New polling numbers aren’t anything to be happy about for either the Ferguson or Reichert campaigns.

AND: Are some red states moving to ban condoms?

Guests include ABC’s Brittany Shepherd, Amy Wang of the Washington Post, Politico’s Cassidy Randall, and pollster Stuart Elway.

The Northwest Politicast with Jeff Pohjola: From this Washington to that one, Jeff Pohjola will explore the issues and politics of the week. Frequent guests and top analysts break down the news to get to the heart of what matters most.
