(SEATTLE, Wash.) – Once again, U.S. District Judge John Coughenour had some harsh words for President Trump.

“It has become ever more apparent that, to our president, the rule of law is but an impediment to his policy goals,” Coughenour said from the bench on Thursday. “The rule of law is, according to him, something to navigate around or simply ignore.”

In his ruling, Judge Coughenour granted a preliminary injunction, negating Mr. Trump’s executive order purporting to end birthright citizenship.

The rebuke of a Republican president by a Reagan appointee was striking, and we have audio of his comments direct from the courtroom.
