Biden Administration bends ACA rules for Washington

(OLYMPIA) The Biden Administration is allowing Washington to do something no other state can, and it will result in more people qualifying for healthcare.

Washington applied for a waiver a while back that would allow it to offer coverage under the Affordable Care Act…also known as Obamacare…to undocumented immigrants.

And now the government has said yes.

The waiver, approved by the Department of Health and Human Services and the Treasury Department allows Washington to become the first state to “expand access to qualified health plans and dental plans regardless of immigration status.”

Today is the deadline to register in the state’s insurance marketplace for coverage beginning January 1st, and the options include the new Cascade Care Savings plan – which could actually cost nothing for some subscribers.

State officials still have to make this waiver formal by agreeing to all its terms.
