(OLYMPIA) According to several reports and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the latest wave of COVID is highly impacting nearly every state.
…except Washington.
We’re almost totally green on the CDC map.
“To be fair, we’re not counting every cases of COVID as we did in the beginning because there is a lot of home testing going on,” says state epidemiologist Doctor Scott Lindquist.
Lindquist tells Northwest Newsradio as hospitals elsewhere fill with COVID patients again, that’s not happening here…because of YOU.
“All the credit goes to the general public,” he says. “All that work of determining how long someone is isolated and how is someone really infected…that all came from Washington.”
Before you get too confident…
“We’ve gone through so many variants, each one progressively getting more infectious,” Lindquist says “It is just a matter of time for another variant to come and become more infectious.”
He then clarified not more deadly, just more infectious.
