(OLYMPIA) If you’re eager to get the new COVID booster, local health officials are advising patience. The doses are here, it’s just that right now, there’s far more demand than there is supply.
Washington has received about 191-THOUSAND doses of the new vaccine; that new formula specifically targeting the two most recent Omicron variants.
But as quickly as they came in, they’re being distributed.
For the last several months, you’ve been able to just show-up at a pharmacy and request a booster. That’s not the case right now with the new COVID booster.
Everyone from the state on down to individual pharmacies is asking you to make an appointment first…and many of those slots are already taken for this week and next, and beyond.
As of this morning on the state vaccine finder website, we looked up a zip code in West Seattle. The soonest appointment at the Rite Aid store on California Avenue SW is October 2nd.
